Jakarta - The high rate of traffic accidents caused by driver drowsiness, intoxicated or poor physical condition inspired the four students of Institut Teknologi Bandung (Bandung Institute Technology) and Institut Teknologi Telkom (Telkom Institute of Technology) and create an application called Brainstat.
"This is an application to monitor the condition of the transportation service driver's brain wave activity," said Dody Qori Utama, representing colleagues in the team named Malabar.
Inserted in intangibles such as a modified headset device, Brainstat monitor the concentration of the driver's physical condition and transportation to reduce the number of traffic accidents.
Applications that represent Indonesia in the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2012 at the international level in Sydney, Australia will provide early warning for the driver. Brainstat works by reading brain waves of humans because the brain is the center of all jointly, which occurs in the human body.
When coupled to the head, brain activity directly read and display it on a computer screen in real-time. The aspects assessed were cognitive level, alertness, psychological and physiological conditions, the level of addiction and the intake of oxygen to the brain.
Described three other team members Malabar Umar Ali Ahmad, Yahya and Anggunmeka Luhur Arganka inscription, this application is trying to offer to airlines. But it is not possible, Brainstat can be used for various purposes.
"It will be further developed and its use could also be the driver of the car, bus, all transportation," they said.
